In October 2024, I participated in the 3rd Online Auction “Weavings of Hope,” organized by the Asociación Damas Salesianas, with a piece titled Flight to the South. The artwork was painted on a wuapa, a traditional indigenous craft created by the Eñepá people of Bolívar state in the Venezuelan Amazon. I painted a flying macaw, a symbol of freedom, cultural identity, and deep connection to the land. The piece pays tribute to the ancestral beauty of Indigenous communities and the resilience that thrives in vulnerable contexts.
This auction was more than an art event — it was an act of solidarity, a way to connect cultures and inspire dreams. All proceeds supported health and education services provided by the ADS La Milagrosa Center in Maniapure. Being part of this noble initiative was a true honor, as it allowed me to use my art as a bridge between worlds and a tool to plant seeds of hope where they are most needed.
