In 2026, I had the honor of illustrating FADES (Factors Associated with Sexual Crime), a study by Reinserta and Mexico's National Institute of Psychiatry Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz that listened to 511 people incarcerated for sexual crimes across eight Mexican states. It is a pioneering study that dares to ask an uncomfortable but essential question: what lies behind a sexual crime?
To approach such a delicate subject, I chose the metaphor of Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf. But this wolf doesn't lurk hidden in the forest: he sits at the family table, teaches in front of the blackboard, pushes the swing at the park, and waves with a smile. What we discovered through this research is that the wolf can be "friendly" and look like any ordinary person, and that is exactly why he is so hard to recognize.
Illustrating these pages was a way of turning difficult data into images that invite us to look the issue in the eye, because prevention begins with understanding.
