    About This Project

Under the Shade of the Jacarandas is a book that gathers the testimonies of 45 women who took part in the feminist march held every March 8th in Mexico City. Through their stories, the book captures the emotions, motivations, and lived experiences that lead thousands of women to occupy public space each year in a powerful call for justice, equality, and freedom. I had the honor of illustrating this project, contributing artwork that dialogues with the voices of the participants and amplifies their message of struggle and hope.

The book was published by the MAF collective (Women, Art and Feminisms) in collaboration with the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana. The illustrations, inspired by the collective power and diversity of the feminist movement, aim to visually accompany a living memory of resistance and sisterhood. Under the Shade of the Jacarandas not only documents a march — it celebrates a silent revolution that blooms every March beneath the purple jacaranda trees of the city.
